The issue I have are the very strict rules of suppressing unacceptable parts in literature, movies, music, and etc. also known as censorship. All though in the US we don't have many restrictions on what gets published there is still great work that is not seen by the majority of public. I'm going against this issue because I have seen great movies that are not well known, since they contain what is considered to be inappropriate by interest groups that put pressure on the directors of the films. This matters since the views of the public determine how much advertising the film gets from the studio, which leads to writers to self-censor themselves. Many of the directors disagree with the rating system because they have to edit their films so much, that most feel that it’s no longer their film, to fit the appropriate standards. Directors should be able to make their films the way they wanted to be made and interpreted, instead of being changed to for a society that is constantly changing the norm.
