In a local context, Chicago hasn't had an issue with censorship since 1970 when Chicago had it’s own board to judge what their residents saw. During 1919 Chicago was the second largest movie maker in the country and a large influence in the movie industry leading to many films to be removed from theaters or cut to meet its standards.
